During this hike, we will not only seethe ruined "water wall", but also will walk for about 3 hours on thewell-preserved parts. But the climb isn’t steep until you get higher up. And in some parts the walk isvery pleasant. We will have a late lunch after the hike at a local farmer’s house.

After a short break after lunch we will head out to the Zhuangdaokou Great Wall from the Walled Village. It is easy to reach the wall.We will walk on the wall for about 1.5 hours, pass by a few watch towers, andcamp on the topmost of this section of the Great Wall. We have enough time tostop and look around or take pictures. In the evening we can have a nice talk, see the stars or drink a beer on the wall.

You will find that besides the hiking partners, your travel companions will belimited to birds, bugs and all sorts of trees. You will spend a great time onthe wall, enjoying the sunset in the late afternoon, the glittering stars inthe evening and the sunrise in the early morning. Get out of the hustle andbustle of the hectic city life, forget about all your works to do, breathe theever-refreshing air, hike or meditate on the Great Wall, listen to the natureas well as your self, relax your body, mind and soul, get connection with the tranquilityof nature and the inner peace again.

Day 2: We might be waken up by the birds andthe air in the morning is really fresh. If you want to see the sunrise you needwake up a bit early. After walking around and taking pictures, we will pack up our camping gears and come down the wall. We will have a breakfast at a local guest house. Then the driver will drive us back Beijing and we will arrive at downtown Beijingat about noon.
