Detailed itinerary:
Day 1: West Huanghuacheng - Zhuangdaokou - East Huanghuacheng Great Wall Hike
We will meet in the early morning at 9am, and will arrive at the Huanghuacheng Great Wall at about 11am. This section of the wall is completely unrestored and still remains its plain character since its construction in Ming Dynasty. During this hike, we will not only see the sheer Great Wall, but also the different mountain and water scenery. The water makes this section of wall a very unique characteristic, distinguishing appearance from other sections of the Great Wall.

We will walk from the West Huanghuacheng to Zhuangdaokou Great Wall in the morning. This hike takes about 2.5 hours. After a late lunch we will walk on the East Huanghuacheng Great Wall. You will see the sunset on the Wall. And this hike takes about 2-4 hours. We will stay overnight at a local guest house.

Day 2: Zhuangdaokou - Xishuiyu Great Wall Hike
After breakfast we will start our hike from Zhuangdaokou to Xishuiyu Great Wall. We will start this hike from an ancient village Zhuangdaokou, where there are two old pines trees which are more than 300 years old. It takes us about twenty minutes to reach the wall. Then we will trek westward on the wall. This section of wall is completely untouched and almost devoid of tourists, allowing for a serene walk. We will get a peak overlooking Xishuiyu Lake one hour and a half later: the broken wall running underwater! From this point, the wall is in too bad a condition to walk, so we will follow a mountain trail to the walled village, where our driver will be waiting for us. After the hike we will have a home-made Chinese lunch in a local farmer’s local guest house. And then the driver will drive us back Beijing.

Bad weather plan:
We will email you 2-3 days before the hike to let you know about the weather condition. If there is thunder storm, heavy rain or strong wind it will be dangerous to do the hike on the wild unrestored Great Wall in the mountains. So we will cancel it, change the dates or arrange a hike to the restored section of the Great Wall.
