Detailed itinerary:
Day 1: Chenjiapu Great Wall Hike
We will meet at 9am and will arrive at the Chenjiapu Great Wall at about 11am. Chenjiapu Great Wall is located in Yanqing County and it is extremely picturesque, wonderfully quiet and absolutely unspoiled. Usually we will only meet a few hikers on the wall, sometimes nobody in sight. It is a three-hour hike - exactly how you romantics dream of experiencing the Wall. This hike also offers the chance to explore China’s peaceful yet spectacular countryside.

The hike itself is a good workout but nothing too strenuous, roughly 3 hours in total with plenty of time to stop and take photos. The maximum elevation is about 1070 meters. We`ll take our time climbing up and down and make sure that we have a relaxed and enjoyable visit. There are alternate routes around the steepest climbs allowing the hiker to adapt their activity to suit their hiking level. Sitting atop the watchtowers along the way, you could hear nothing but the wind. This hike also offers excellent views of the surrounding mountains and the chance to see native wildlife in its natural habitat. After the hike, we will visit a local farmer`s house to have a Chinese family cooking style meal there and experience rural hospitality at its best.

Day 2: Zhenbiancheng Great Wall Hike
After breakfast the driver will drive us to Zhenbiancheng Great Wall. This section of Wall is situated on Beijing’s western border with southwestern Hebei Province. This section of wall is one of the most ruined and original wall around Beijing.

We will visit the village of Zhenbiancheng firstly. It was a very important strategic pass. The village is still surrounded by the high stone walls of a Ming garrison. Then we will head out to the Great Wall along a countryside trail. The trail is very interesting. We will pass by field, peach orchards, up valleys, bushes, and then
finally reach the ruins of an old stone fort atop a ridge.

After a short break, we will head for the next tower ruins.
Unlike other sections of wall, Zhenbiancheng Great Wall was built by stones instead of bricks. After passing by a few towers we will have a very wide view to the east which opens for miles. We will have lunch on one of the towers. The walk on some parts of this wall is a bit difficult due to its disrepair and desolate location. But it is an ideal place for adventurous and experienced hikers and photographers.

Bad weather plan:
We will email you 2-3 days before the hike to let you know about the weather condition. If there is thunder storm, heavy rain or strong wind it will be dangerous to do the hike on the wild unrestored Great Wall in the mountains. So we will cancel it, change the dates or arrange a hike to the restored section of the Great Wall.
