Highlights of this hike:
1. This hike includes four different sections of the Great Wall: Gubeikou Great Wall, Jinshanling Great Wall, Jiankou Great Wall and Mutianyu Great Wall. It offers a great chance for you to witness a wide variety of both architecture and topography, as well as to sample the culture and history;
2. Walk on both restored and unrestored authentic wild Great Wall: an excellent chance for you to compare and contrast what the wall may have looked like when they were originally finished, and how it looks after about 600 years of exposure to the elements;

This 2-day Great Wall hiking tour includes four different sections of the Great Wall:
1. Gubeikou Great Wall;
2. Jinshanling Great Wall;
3. Jiankou Great Wall;
4. Mutianyu Great Wall.

Price and discount:
The cost is 1800RMB (about 270 US$) per person. It includes transportation, entrance fees, water, four meals, one night’s accommodation and guides. We give 10% discount for students, members and kids under 12’s.

Detailed itinerary:
Day 1:
1. In the morning we will meet at 8am;
2. After about 2 to 2.5 hours’driving, we will arrive at Gubeikou Ancient Town;
3. In the morning: We will take a hike from Gubeikou Great Wall to West Jinshanling Great Wall (about 10 kilometers, 4-5 hours);
4. Lunch time: We will have a lunch on Jinshanling Great Wall;
5. In the afternoon: After lunch we will go for a hike on East Jinshanling Great Wall; (about 6 kilometers, 3 hours’walking) ;
6. At night we will stay at a local guest house. (Camping on the Chinese Great Wall is optional.).

Day 2:
1. After breakfast we will drive to Xizhazi Village;
2. In the morning: We will take a hike from East Jiankou Great Wall to Mutianyu Great Wall; (about 12 kilometers, 4-5 hours);
3. Lunch time: We will have a late yet big lunch at a local farmer’s guest house;
4. After lunch we will drive back to downtown Beijing.

Bad weather plan:
We will email you 2-3 days before the hike to let you know about the weather condition. If there is thunder storm, heavy rain or strong wind we will cancel the hike, change the dates or arrange a tour to the restored section of the Great Wall.

What to bring on this hike?
1. Comfortable hiking boots and a suitable size daypack;
2. Quick-drying dress in summer and windproof dress in autumn, raincoat; warm clothes for the evening, spare socks and underwear;
3. Sun protection: hat, sunscreen, sunglasses;
4. Snacks and energy complement;
5. Toothbrush, small towel;
6. Personal first-aid, mosquito killer;
7. Some medicine for diarrhea and heat stroke.
