Detailed itinerary:
We’ll start off the hike from a small village in the Jiankou area, following a hillside trail to the Great Wall. About forty minutes’ later we will reach the Wall, which level is about 800 meters above the sea level. From there will follow the wall walking north. In the beginning the walking is easier.

Close to the Beijing-Knot tower, there is a short-but-steep climb on some tricky terrain. On the Beijing Knot tower, you will have a broad view. There is a beautiful old pine tree on the tower and it is the symbol of this tower. Beijing-Knot tower is the spot where three stretches of Great Wall meet up.

We will have enough time to stop and look around or take pictures. And then we will leave the tower, walking back to the Xizhazi village. We will have a lunch at a local farmer’s guest house after the hike.

Bad weather plan:
We will email you 2-3 days before the hike to let you know about the weather condition. If there is thunder storm, heavy rain or strong wind it will be dangerous to do the hike on the wild unrestored Great Wall in the mountains. So we will cancel it, change the dates or arrange a hike to the restored section of the Great Wall.
