Haituo Mountain’s summit is 2241m, one of highest mountains around Beijing. Located on the border of Beijing and Hebei Province, it has three peaks, called First, Second and Third Haituo. The major peak is 2,241 meters high, At First Haituo, there is a meadow that runs about 10 kilometers and is half a kilometer wide. Hikers will be treated to the sight of a meadow full of blossoming flowers near the peak.

There are several routes which lead to the peak. We will start our hike from Big Haituo Village and there are stunning views along the way. Big Haituo Mountain features high peaks and dense forests. It has a well-preserved pine forest, which is the best ecological place around Beijing. There are several brooks and springs along the mountain, some in the ravine and some at the foot of the mountain.“Flying snow in haituo” are liable to happen at any time from October to May. It takes about 2-3 hours to reach the top. We will have our lunch there. After lunch we will return to the Big haituo Village. The whole hike takes about 4-5 hours.
